Wang Yi, the Chinese minister of foreign affairs, will pay an official visit to Thailand on Sunday and Monday, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Mr Wang is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House on Monday. That will be followed by a meeting with his Thai counterpart, Don Pramudwinai, and a joint news conference. A statement from the ministry said the official visit would be an important opportunity for both sides to discuss and follow up on matters relating to bilateral relations as well as exchange views on regional issues of common interest, including Asean.
